Media resources
The approved company description, brand guidance, background material and the people who can answer questions. This page is written for journalists working to a deadline, which is why the limits are stated alongside the assets.
Cleared media resource, prepared 31 August 2026. Please attribute factual statements to Baxtra Research Labs and check the date of any programme or study description before publication.
Company boilerplate
Journalists may use the text below in full. Please do not shorten it, add claims to it, or edit the description of regulatory status. If you need a version for a particular format, ask the media team rather than making a faster version that is less accurate.
Baxtra Research Labs is a United States medical research company founded in March 2025. It develops investigational medical countermeasures for high-consequence pathogens, including Nipah virus, Marburg virus, Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever and prion disease, alongside surgical technology. Twelve disclosed medicine programmes are in Phase 1, and a thirteenth clinical-stage programme is not described publicly. Baxtra’s medicines are not approved or available for ordinary patient use.
This is the approved boilerplate. Use it unedited, including the final sentence. “Investigational” is not a synonym for approved, marketed or prescribed.
Baxtra in one sentence
Baxtra Research Labs develops investigational medical countermeasures for high-consequence pathogens and surgical technology in the United States.
For a company profile
Founded in March 2025, Baxtra Research Labs works across two businesses: investigational medicines for high-consequence pathogens and surgical technology. Its disclosed medicine portfolio contains twelve Phase 1 programmes spanning ten therapeutic areas, supported by discovery, translational and maximum-containment research. Its surgical portfolio includes Lumavue, an FDA 510(k)-cleared real-time tissue perfusion imaging device, and two devices in investigational clinical evaluation. No Baxtra investigational medicine has been approved by a regulatory authority in any country.
The figures behind the description
These figures are the public snapshot as at 31 August 2026. They describe the scale and stage of the work, not a prediction of what any programme will achieve.
Investment
$310 million has been invested in R&D since inception. $118 million of that total is partnered or government-funded preparedness money; the remainder is company-funded.
Research footprint
Discovery and containment-level-3 laboratories opened in August 2025. The surgical engineering facility opened in November 2025. The Palm Coast maximum-containment suit laboratory completed commissioning in July 2026.
Portfolio boundary
There are thirteen clinical-stage programmes in total. Twelve are disclosed. The designation and indication of the further programme are withheld and are not to be inferred from this page.
Other public figures include 83 patents and continuations filed, of which 14 are not published, and nine therapeutic areas. The public portfolio is not a product catalogue.
Use the mark plainly
The Baxtra wordmark is available in a dark-on-light version and a light-on-dark version. Download the supplied files rather than tracing, redrawing or extracting the mark from a screenshot. The logo should identify Baxtra, not become a decorative pattern around a story.
Logo files
Primary wordmark
Light wordmark for dark backgrounds
SVG files are preferred for print and digital use. Please ask if you need a production format that is not listed.
Clear space
Keep clear space around the mark equal to at least the height of the capital letter in the wordmark on every side. Do not let headlines, type, rules, photographs or other marks enter that area.
Usage rules
- Use the primary mark on quiet, light backgrounds and the light mark on dark backgrounds.
- Do not recolour the logo, stretch it, compress it, rotate it, crop it or redraw it.
- Do not place the mark over busy imagery, fine detail or a background that makes the edge difficult to recognise.
- Do not add drop shadows, glows, outlines, gradients or any other effects.
- Do not use the mark to imply endorsement of a publication, product, institution or quotation.
The logo does not turn an investigational statement into a product claim. Brand approval and scientific or regulatory approval are separate questions.
Imagery available on request
We can provide cleared still imagery for editorial use, subject to the context and the publication date. Available categories include laboratory exteriors, non-sensitive workspaces, surgical-technology engineering, device stills and approved staff-in-role images. We do not provide images that identify restricted containment work, confidential materials, patient-participant information or an unannounced programme.
Send the intended outlet, story angle, image dimensions, deadline, caption requirements and whether the image will be used in print, online or broadcast. We will return the image with a caption and usage conditions where one is available. A request is not permission to photograph or film a facility independently.
Who to contact, and when to expect an answer
Use one route per question. A message sent to the wrong route is not automatically forwarded, and that can turn a same-day answer into a week-long one. Response times below are commitments to acknowledge and give a substantive answer where the information is cleared, not promises that every requested detail can be released.
| Topic | Route | Typical response | What to include |
|---|---|---|---|
| General enquiries | media@baxtra.pages.dev | Acknowledgement within 1 working day; answer or status within 3 working days | Outlet, deadline, subject, format and contact number if an interview is requested |
| Scientific enquiries | science@baxtra.pages.dev | Acknowledgement within 2 working days; cleared technical response within 5 working days | Candidate or technology, exact question, and whether the answer will be quoted |
| Clinical trial enquiries | trials@baxtra.pages.dev | Acknowledgement within 1 working day; study-team routing within 3 working days | Study name or registry identifier, publication deadline and whether participant information is involved |
| Partnering | partnering@baxtra.pages.dev | Acknowledgement within 3 working days; initial fit response within 10 working days | Organisation, proposed scope, geography, capability and the decision-maker for follow-up |
| Disclosure Review Board | disclosure@baxtra.pages.dev | Acknowledgement within 5 working days; clearance requests are assessed, not guaranteed | Document or claim, intended use, deadline and the precise material requested |
Do not send patient-identifiable information, unpublished technical data or sensitive site details by ordinary email. The Disclosure Review Board route is for publication and disclosure questions, not a shortcut to information that is withheld.
Interview requests
Send requests to media@baxtra.pages.dev with the outlet, programme or subject, the proposed questions or themes, the format, the deadline, the expected duration and whether the interview is live or recorded. We aim to confirm availability within 2 working days. A confirmed interview is subject to the speaker’s remit and the questions being within the cleared public record.
We can usually offer the Chief Scientific Officer for research questions, the Chief Medical Officer for clinical development questions, the Head of Surgical Technology for device engineering questions, and the Biosafety Officer for published containment standards. Names are supplied when an interview is confirmed; roles are used here because the work should not depend on a personality.
We may ask to see the subject areas in advance. That is not an agreement to approve an article, and we will not request editorial control. We may correct a factual error about Baxtra, a study or a product. We cannot make a spokesperson say more than the cleared record permits.
What we will not do
These are standing boundaries, not negotiating positions for a deadline. Asking repeatedly does not turn withheld information into cleared information.
- We will not confirm anything about the August 2026 event beyond the published statement. It confirms only that an event occurred, that Baxtra’s own staff found it, that work stopped, that an independent review is open, and that authorities were notified. It declines to name the programme, suite, material, quantities, dates or individuals, and states there is no identified risk outside the facility.
- We will not comment on the withheld thirteenth clinical-stage programme, including by hint, comparison or “off the record” description.
- We will not provide efficacy claims for investigational products.
- We will not give timelines to approval.
- We will not arrange facility filming inside containment.
Those boundaries are part of the answer. A journalist may fairly report that Baxtra declined to comment. We would rather have that sentence published than have an invented detail travel further because a response arrived late.
How to describe Baxtra products
Call the medicine candidates “investigational medicines”, “candidates” or “clinical-stage programmes”. Identify the candidate by its code and name, and describe the study as Phase 1 when that is the stage being reported. The clinical stage tells you that a programme is being evaluated in people; it does not establish benefit, a final indication or a future regulatory outcome.
For the surgical portfolio, distinguish between the technologies. Lumavue is FDA 510(k) cleared from July 2026. SealWeave and Axion OR are in investigational clinical evaluation. Clearance of one device does not confer clearance on the other devices, and it does not change the status of the medicine portfolio.
Words that are factually wrong
Describing any Baxtra medicine candidate as a treatment, a cure, or as available is factually wrong. No Baxtra investigational medicine has been approved by a regulatory authority in any country, and none is available for ordinary patient use or on prescription. We will correct those descriptions publicly when they appear, including when the error is in a headline, caption or social post.
Do not turn a mechanism, a Phase 1 study, an animal-model result or a regulatory route into a claim about what a product does for patients.
The safest copy is usually the most exact copy: name the candidate, name the study, state the phase, and say what remains unknown. The document library contains the cleared public record, including programme fact sheets and the clinical transparency material.
Start with the public record
Use the document library for references, revision numbers and approved background. For the August event, use the containment statement and nothing beyond it.
