Responsibility
A medicine that people cannot reach, or that costs the planet more than it saves, is not a finished product.
Global access
We set an access plan for every medicine at Phase 2 — which countries, at what price tier, through which supply route. Prices in low-income countries are set at or below cost of goods plus distribution, and we do not file or enforce patents in least-developed countries.
- Income-indexed tiered pricing across four bands
- Voluntary licensing for our infectious disease portfolio
- Regional manufacturing technology transfer in Africa and South Asia
- No patent filing in the 45 least-developed countries
Environment
Pharmaceutical manufacturing is energy- and solvent-intensive. Our commitments are absolute reductions, not intensity metrics or offsets.
- Net zero across Scope 1 and 2 by 2030; Scope 3 by 2045
- Green chemistry review at candidate selection for every program
- Zero process waste to landfill at all owned manufacturing sites
- Pharmaceuticals-in-the-environment risk assessment for every marketed product
People & communities
Baxtra funds health system strengthening rather than one-off donations: diagnostic capacity, laboratory training and nurse education in the markets where our medicines are used.
- Baxtra Health Fellows — 240 clinicians trained in 2025
- Rare disease diagnostic programme in 14 countries
- Four paid volunteering days for every colleague
- Living wage certified across all owned operations
